2. Conduct community-engaged research that provides positive experiences for community members and improves research design and outcomes.
3. Identify resources, colleagues, and community members to enhance community-engaged research.

Topics Covered

Meaningful engagement of community members in the design, implementation and dissemination of research will improve the relevance and impact of research and is increasingly required for consideration of funding. However, research training has not historically included information about effective and ethical approaches to community engagement. This course will explore principles and practices for community engagement in diverse types of research, will prepare participants to engage community members in their research going forward, and will identify a range of resources to support authentic engagement.
