When to Cite SYNERGY Support
You should cite SYNERGY if your work has benefited from:
- SYNERGY funding (e.g., PI awards, pilot project awards)
- Career development funding (e.g., the K12 Mentored Career Development Program – Green Scholars)
- Biostatistical, data analysis, or informatics support
- Consultation services
- Use of SYNERGY-supported tools (e.g., REDCap, TriNetX)
- Access to core facilities or other resources
Where to Include the Citation
Include your acknowledgements in:
- The Funding Acknowledgement or Acknowledgements section of peer-reviewed publications
- Posters and talks at conferences
- Grant progress reports or reports to sponsors
- Institutional reports or webpages describing your supported work

Public Access & Compliance
Publications supported by NIH funding must be submitted to PubMed Central (PMC) and receive a PubMed Central ID (PMCID), in accordance with the NIH Public Access Policy. Some journals automatically submit to PubMed Central; if not, authors or their designees must submit the accepted manuscript.
