Granite Secure Research Environment
Granite is a secure platform, enterprise-grade computing environment that provides a shared Windows or Linux platform for researchers across Dartmouth Health and Dartmouth College to collaborate on active research projects involving sensitive data.
Designed to support HIPAA-compliant data access, analysis, and storage, Granite enables approved study teams to work with regulated datasets (e.g., PHI, limited datasets, de-identified data) within a controlled environment that meets institutional and regulatory requirements. The platform supports collaborative workflows while maintaining strict safeguards around data security, access controls, and auditability.
Granite is commonly used for projects requiring secure data handling, advanced analytics, or cross-institutional collaboration and is available to approved users following RIDGe review and DH - institutional authorization.
