June 29, 2026Consortium of Rural States (CORES) Multi-Institutional Pilot Program
SYNERGY is one of eight rural-state CTSA institutions in the Consortium of Rural States (CORES) offering pilot funding for translational science projects. Awards provide up to $25,000 in direct costs per institution for collaborative projects involving two or more CORES sites. Faculty at all career levels are eligible to apply. -

SYNERGY, the Dartmouth Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), is pleased to recognize the six projects selected for the inaugural 2025 Translational Pilot Award inaugural cohort. These awards represent an important milestone for the institute, supporting innovative, early-stage projects that address key translational science challenges, foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, and advance research with the potential to improve health outcomes—particularly in rural communities—while generating the preliminary data needed to compete for future NIH and foundation funding. -

Dartmouth SYNERGY Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is pleased to announce Dr. Siming Zhao as Dartmouth's inaugural CORES (Consortium of Rural States) Awardee, marking the institution's participation in this national collaborative initiative. CORES connects investigators across Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) institutions to advance collaborative, multi-site translational research that addresses rural health challenges through cross-institutional collaboration and team science. Aligned with the NCATS mission to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into improved health, the program fosters partnerships that strengthen translational science and expand the impact of collaborative research. Dartmouth congratulates Dr. Zhao on this achievement and looks forward to contributing to the continued growth of the CORES network through this collaboration with Penn State CTSI.
